Let’s hear it for the Red, White and Blue!
Once again, Sunday Afternoon Live brings Navy Band Northwest to Pacific County, but this time to a new venue: The Pacific County Fairgrounds!
The concert is free. Anyone can get into the concert area with no fair pass through the gate by the fair office (behind the fire department). But to go to the main part of the fair from the concert, non-seniors must have a pass. Fair passes are $10 (for all four days of the fair); $5 for one day only; $3 for children ages 6-12; and free for preschool age children. Fair entry on Friday is free to seniors (over 65) and nursing home residents.

Location: The Pacific County Fair is located six miles east of Raymond on State Route 6 in Menlo, across from Willapa Valley Junior/Senior High School.

Aaron Conitz, violist, is an experienced performer and thoughtful musician. He received two degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the guidance of Robert Vernon, Lynne Ramsey, and Jeffrey Irvine. Currently, Aaron is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at Rice University as a student of James Dunham. Aaron was a featured soloist and principal violist with the National Repertory Orchestra and appeared at Spoleto USA, Aspen Music Festival, and the Cervo International Summer Academy.
Joshua Romatowski is a versatile young artist in the Seattle area. Joshua holds a Masters of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with and a Bachelors of Music from the University of Texas at Austin. Joshua also holds an Artist Diploma in Early Music from the Cornish College of the Arts. Joshua has most recently appeared with the Detroit Symphony, Ukiah Symphony Orchestra, and Philharmonia Healdsburg.

Jeff Scroggins & Colorado is a high energy, high mountain “bluegrass explosion,” that features the amazing banjo playing of Jeff Scroggins. Jeff’s fiery style and lightning fast licks have earned him many fans worldwide, and have left many a first time listener in stunned disbelief! It also features the award winning mandolin playing of Jeff’s son Tristan Scroggins. Tristan is also an accomplished songwriter, and his and Jeff’s original instrumentals play a large role in the band’s unique and energetic sound.
Called one of the best singers of her generation by Christine Lavin, folksinger and jewelry designer Mara Levine has been creating beautiful interpretations of fine traditional and contemporary folk songs for many years and singing professionally as a member of various ensembles and as a hired harmony vocalist since 2002. Folk DJ Jim Marino has referred to her as “golden-voiced,” while Michael Stock calls her voice “full, rich and soothing.” Mara was nominated by Ron Olesko in 2009 for the Suzi Wollenberg Folk DJ Showcase at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference.
